I sold a beautiful lot on Ebay...And the woman that it was suppose to go (a wonderful grandmother) just emailed and told me all she got was my label! I am in tears and have no idea what I can do to help her file this claim...but, what I really am in tears about is a brand new beautiful Samantha Doll with some Accessories and a lot of freebies for this woman's granddaughter is just gone!
I don't even know how the post office can help with this! The money is just not enough!
I would love for her granddaughter to have opened that package on Christmas day! I just don't know what to do or how to really fix this to that woman! She has purchased from me before and she is just the sweetest lady...I have never had anything happen like this!!!!
Sorry to vent, but this is just some relief to tell someone who might understand...All my husband could say when I told him was..."There was Insurance on it, right?"

I'm so sorry justbeingme - that is truly a shock to just receive a label without the attached box. Hope there is a way that the box might still be found.

That is so strange and odd!!!! I am guessing weird things happen during the Holidays.. like my own missing box.. Hope the insurance can help her get a new doll.

I am so sorry for your loss or her loss. How could this happen? You mean the whole box is missing but the label made its way? You should contact your local PO and ask them to look in their mail storage room. Maybe there is a box with no label?

I would start by calling the post office it was mailed from, and the destination post office. See if you can find out the route it took. With insurance, they should have some way of tracking it.Call each location and describe the box to the very best of your ability- size, shape, condition, any markings. Explain that the label came off and the time that the box was shipped in.Call fast.I bet they will find it for you.

The box should have a sticker with a bar code on it. The post office should have affixed one when it got to the main distribution point from where mailed. Your box is probably floating around out there unless you suspect theft. Once the bar code is matched up with a report of the box being missing, all should be well. Ask your buyer if perhaps the piece she received also has that bar code. Good luck!

Well, I will talk with them today...I printed the label with a click and ship, so I just have a Delivery Confirmation code for it...Not a tracking code, there was Insurance on it...
The label that I put on all my packages are the big sticker kind (the 8x10 sheets) So, I have no idea how that came off like it did!!!!
I do pack every package with a packing slip that has my address and her address on it...So, I am hoping that someone picks that up.
My husband said that the day he dropped off those packages, he goes around the pack to drop them off, but that day the truck was actually there to pick them up and they just went ahead and loaded them on the truck...
So, I have no idea what is going on with what...I am just really sad about this!

ODG! What a mess! I am starting to hear other Post office or AG-order nightmare stories since the Christmas rush has arrived.
The fact that this time of the year is busy is no excuse for losing items like this! USPC and AG both know how it gets ahead of time. I would think that they had the foresight to hire extra employees for the postal Christmas rush instead of overloading their current employees.... Sheesh!
I hope yours and the buyer's dilema gets solved right away! What a PAIN!
